GoDaddy web hosting is, in my experience, terrible. Maybe it’s because I’m coming off yet another frustrating encounter with their hosting. Yes, another one. It feels like every time a client comes to us with a GoDaddy-hosted website, I end up spending hours battling a slow site and the frustrations of subpar customer service. Even trying to migrate a site from GoDaddy to our host can feel like an exercise in patience—an elaborate game of tug-of-war where GoDaddy’s grip is a little too tight.
They seem to have perfected the art of making it difficult to move your site away, like they’re holding onto the <footer> for dear life as you try to rescue it from the darkness and into the light. You know, where people can actually browse your site at reasonable speeds. Where admins can navigate the backend without wanting to bang their head on the keyboard.

Anyway, I don’t want to be overly dramatic here, but GoDaddy hosting really isn’t great. If you’ve got your domains there, that’s totally fine, but I’d recommend thinking twice about using their hosting. Let me share a quick comparison I did for a client who was hosting with GoDaddy. After quite the journey, I managed to export their site (a minor miracle) and ran a 1:1 PageSpeed comparison. It was the same theme, same plugins, but on different hosts. Here are the results for mobile:

Keep in mind, these numbers are before any optimization. This site could still benefit from a proper rebuild and some tweaks to make it even faster.
If you’re looking for an alternative, we offer web hosting at $15/month, which includes a fast site and peace of mind. We take care of issues usually before you even notice them, and if you ever need support, we’re just an email or text away. No wrestling with chatbots or waiting in line for “help”. We genuinely want you to have a smooth experience.
But even if you decide not to host with us, please think twice about hosting with GoDaddy. Your future self—and your future web designer—will thank you.
